Céad mile fáilte to St Brigid’s National School website (also known as Drumcong Central National School). St Brigid’s school is situated in the parish of Kiltubrid (Cill Tiobraid). Opened in September 1978, the school is a mixed Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Ardagh & Clonmacnoise. It welcomes children of all denominations and none and we respect the diversity of the community that we serve.

Location

Our school is located in south Leitrim approximately 12km from Carrick-on-Shannon on the R210 road to Ballinamore. Our school caters for the full range of classes from Junior Infants to Sixth. The current enrolment for 2021/2022 is 158 pupils.

Our Staff

Our staff comprises an administrative principal, a deputy principal (learning support teacher), 9 classroom teachers (including 2 job shares), 3 learning support teachers (1 shared with St. Mary’s, Aughnasheelin as the base school and with St Patrick’s school, Drumshanbo), 1 Special Needs Assistant, 1 Secretary and 1 Caretaker. In addition, there are 2 post of responsibility (AP II) held by two of our class teachers.
